TRURO City have announced that midfielder Yassine En-Neyah has signed a new multi-year contract with the club, writes Gareth Davies.

Born in Morocco but raised in Ireland, En-Neyah cut his formative footballing teeth on the Emerald Isle with Corduff and Bohemians before joining former two time European Champions Nottingham Forest in 2017.

He spent four years at the City Ground, making one senior appearance in an Emirates FA Cup tie at Chelsea in January 2020.

En-Neyah was released by Forest 12 months later and after spells back in Ireland with Shelbourne and Waterford, he linked up with the Tinners for their Southern League promotion charge, which resulted in a play-off final win over Bracknell in May 2023.

Securing a move back into league football, En-Neyah joined Colchester United but after just a season in Essex, he rejoined Truro City, to help guide the Tinners to National League South glory earlier this year.

“I’m so happy and glad to commit my future to Truro for a long time,” En-Neyah told trurocity.co.uk. “I want to carry on and progress my career, at a club that is looking upwards.

“My goal is to help Truro establish themselves in the National League and then progress further. I have always stuck to my goals and certainly at Truro I have achieved them with two promotions.

“One of the main reasons for signing a new contract is that Truro feels like home for me. I feel comfortable because I have met so many good people, who are like an extended family to me.

“I couldn’t imagine myself being anywhere else apart from in Cornwall and playing in front of our fans, who I have a special relationship with.”

Truro City travel to Scunthorpe United this Saturday in the Enterprise National League.
