HAYLE continued their relentless march towards promotion as they won by 252 runs at bottom side Luckett.

Half centuries from Dan Lello (67) and skipper Tom Sharp (66) laid the platform before rapid knocks from Max Jenkin (37 off 17), Malik Din (45 off 25) and Matt Lello (38no off 16) helped them reach 324-8.

James Frankin then took 4-26 before Jenkin (2-3) and Dan Lello (3-5) dismissed the hosts for just 72.

Falmouth remain in deep trouble as mid-table Beacon triumphed at Trescobeas.

Rhys McGowan’s 5-31 and braces for Callum Stephens (2-26) and Dylan De Beer (2-6) saw the visitors lose eight wickets for just 37 in their 134 all out after thirties from Ben James (33) and Stephen Wiseman (30).

Openers Amir Khan (27) and Adrian Noott (29) put on 54, but the visitors still won by 20 runs as Gareth Mankee’s 4-34 was added to by Jordan Thomas (2-30) and Ben James (3-5).

Falmouth stay 19 points behind third bottom Roche who were thrashed by 185 runs at Truro who are now joint second with Paul.

Ninety-seven from opener Charlie Kent and sixties from Max Finzel (60) and Raja Hamza Waheed (67) helped the hosts reach 347-8, before the visitors were dismissed for just 162, James Hunkin top-scoring with 41. All six home bowlers got reward.

Elsewhere, Newquay made it four straight wins to close in on safety, while putting Hayle 34 points clear.

They dismissed an understrength Paul for just 119 despite Damon Nicholls’ unbeaten 34 with Rob Burton (2-4), Joe Crane (2-21) and Tom Owen (2-30) amongst the wickets. Crane (31) and skipper Adam Cocking (51no) then secured an eight-wicket success.

Stithians cemented fourth with a 152-run win at Perranporth. Simon Danby made 92 not out in their 263-4 before skipper Matthew Ellis took 4-29 in the home reply.
