LEADERS Wadebridge Seconds extended their lead to 32 points on Saturday following a crushing 10-wicket success over visiting Bude on Saturday.

Ollie Bate’s superb summer continued with 5-26 and spinners Charlie Ellis (2-9) and Alek Gill (3-12) shared the other five in the Seasiders’ 72 all out, a total Jamie Beare (48no) and Sam Richards (28no) knocked off inside nine overs.

Callington Seconds are up to second following an emphatic six-wicket success at Tintagel.

They restricted their hosts to 250-7 with club legend Jim Shorten (1-25) the pick.

In reply, runs flew from the outset as after Dan Davis made a rapid 41, opener James Brenton (85) and Blaze Eigenmann (64no) both made half centuries.

Lanhydrock dropped to fourth following an eight-wicket hammering at champions St Blazey who leapfrogged them.

Lanhydrock could only muster 155-9 from their 45 overs, not helped by 36 overs of spin costing just 90 and needed notable contributions from lower order batsmen Jacca Cavendish (21), Jamie Eldridge (32no) and Gary Jones (12no).

Ben Attfield struck twice early in the chase, but while Josh Carne (27no) occupied one end, South African Henro Bouwer smashed 104 not out from just 64 deliveries (19 fours, one six).

St Austell Seconds overcame a late wobble to secure an eight-wicket victory over their visiting Werrington counterparts.

Skipper Tom Rosevear led the way with 3-21 and there were braces for James Carter (2-6), Spencer Bist (2-43) and Hayden Coad (2-20) in the visitors’ 120 all out, before openers Carter (32) and Steve Raven (36) added 66 in seven overs.

The Saints lost wickets from there on including 5-5 for Dan Jenkin, but just scrambled over the line.

The other game saw second bottom Holsworthy beat Menheniot-Looe by 23 runs to move within six points of safety.
