IT’S been a busy couple of months, and I want to thank everyone who continues to reach out with ideas, concerns and support in St Austell Central and Gover. It’s a privilege to serve as your Cornwall councillor, and I’ve been working hard to stay engaged and responsive.
I’ve attended meetings with St Austell BID (Business Improvement District), the town council, various committees and our Community Area Partnership (CAP) – all vital spaces for shaping the future of our town.
I’ve also met with developers Treveth to learn more about the proposed property development at Penwinnick Road, and I’m working to help progress a significant business application that could bring new opportunities to the area.
I’ve been exploring funding options to support local projects and recently joined a networking event where I met business owners keen to help rejuvenate St Austell. If you’re a local business owner, I’d encourage you to attend the monthly ‘Your Partnerships’ event to connect with others who share that same vision.
I was proud to join the mayor of St Austell, Cllr Colin Hamilton, at the reopening of the St Austell Community Kitchen – a fantastic local initiative doing amazing work for our community. I’ve made a donation from the St Austell Central and Gover Community Chest to support their efforts, and I’d encourage anyone who can to visit or get involved!
I continue to handle casework across the ward – including that involving damage from recent heavy rain and ongoing concerns around speeding.
If there’s anything I can help with, please email me at [email protected]
