LOCAL historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.

This week’s photograph shows an image of a thanksgiving service at the end of World War II.

Barrie says of this photograph: “August 1945 service of thanksgiving in the Priory at Bodmin.

“It was conducted by Rev. Young and attended by the mayor in addition to representatives of the Army, Navy, Air Force and countless Bodmin people.”
