LOCAL historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.

This week’s photograph shows an image of a newspaper from VJ Day in 1945.

Barrie says of this photograph: “This is a photo of the front page of the VJ day news on a newspaper that I own, one of many of historical days in the past. These papers that I have were delivered to No 21 Pool Street in Bodmin as you will see by the entry on the top right hand corner of the page, the house where I was born.

"This and many more papers, and old photos were passed on to me when my parents passed away and I carried on collecting."
