OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted and a pensioner was knocked to the ground in west Cornwall.

The incident took place at Gwithian Towans Car Park on Friday, July 24, at around 7.45pm.

A 14-year-old boy, who lives locally, was reported to have been attacked by a group of three boys. The victim sustained injuries including chipped teeth and swelling to his head.

An 81-year-old local woman, who was walking in the car park, saw the attack and was knocked to the ground when attempting to come to his aid. She sustained minor injuries.
