A new main road being built in Newquay is on its way to being completed.
Cormac has released a video of the progress being made with the construction of the Newquay Strategic Route.
A spokesperson said: “The Newquay Strategic Route, which aims to smooth traffic, is well on its way to completion, and we've got an aerial glimpse of the recent progress.
"This transport link will connect the Nansledan development to the A392 at the Hendra roundabout.
"On behalf of Cornwall Council, Cormac is delivering the project in partnership with Network Rail and the Duchy of Cornwall.
"This project will ease road congestion, boost connectivity with Nansledan and support sustainable travel with footways and cycle paths.”
The Newquay Strategic Route will also allow the relocation of the Household Waste Centre in Trevenson Road to its new location across the road from Hendra Tourist Park this site.
"This in turn will release the current waste centre to be redeveloped for the extra care provision.
The Newquay Strategic Route when completed will also open up the start of the Chapel Gover scheme for 600 houses.
The expectation and hope will be that as an additional benefit when the road does open it will ease the traffic flow going through Qunitrell Downs.
