A Newquay rugby team has been put through their pacs by two England internationals ahead of their match on Saturday.
Chris Ashton and Joe Launchbury have been at the Newquay Hornets training sessions for its game against St Just.
Their visit follows The Rugby Football Union (RFU) selecting Newquay Hornets to enjoy a special treatment day as part in its Play Together Stay Together campaign, which aims to help rugby clubs to gain and retain players.
The RFU will be treating the club’s match against St Just RFC match as if it was an England Rugby international fixture.
They will be producing a team sheet and sharing this on England Rugby social media, and live streaming the match with commentary on England Rugby channels.
Chris Ashton and Joe Launchbury, as well as The Rugby Guy, will also be in attendance at the Newquay Hornet’s match against St Just.
Spectators are welcome to attend.
Dave Livesey, the RFU player retention manager, said: “As clubs, the Newquay Hornets and St Just have been working hard to build their adult playing sections and use rugby to bring people together on and off the pitch.
“The day will be a celebration of this great effort.”
