GERMAN visitors from Truro’s twin town of Boppard came for a cultural exchange programme from Friday, August 29 to Monday, September 1.

The visit began with a reception for guests and local members of the Truro-Boppard Twinning Association, hosted by city mayor Cllr Chris Wells in the Mayor’s Parlour in the Truro City Council offices.

Further activities included a tour from the council’s Parks Department, taking in Fozzards Field Nursery at Idless; watching a match at Truro Cricket Club; a visit to Falmouth; a friendly game of boules with the Truro-Morlaix Twinning Association; a session at The Tapyard at Skinners Brewery; a guided tour of Cornwall Council by its chairman (and city councillor) Cllr Rob Nolan, and a trip to the Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery.

The programme concluded with a farewell meal at Truro Golf Club - a great end to a weekend of friendship, culture and community.
