Truro veterans, cadets and residents attended numerous acts of Remembrance in the city yesterday.
As well as two minutes’ silence at 11am, the war memorial in Boscawen Street was also the site of a wreath-laying ceremony in the afternoon - part of a parade including a salute with His Majesty the King’s Lord-Lieutenant for Cornwall, Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho KCVO OBE. Commemorations concluded with a Service of Remembrance at Truro Cathedral, featuring the moving “poppy drop” from the central tower.
