THE local community are being invited to visit Truro School Family Day on Saturday, June 28.
The new event, which begins at 11am, offers an impressive line-up of activities, entertainment, and hands-on experiences, promising something for every age and interest, from inflatable games and classic races to live music, craft stalls, food, performances, and workshops.
Visitors can enjoy a full programme of attractions including bubble football, a rodeo bull, puppet shows, circus skills workshops, a live storytelling faerie, and even a Dungeons and Dragons gaming room. Younger guests will love the inflatables and creative zones, while older visitors can try their hand at upcycling fashion or silversmithing.
The event includes an exclusive screening of The Penguin Lesson in the Burrell Theatre, followed by a Q&A with the author, a must for literature lovers. Music fans can enjoy a full line-up of performers on the Main Stage, alongside a pop-up choir workshop and atmospheric live sets in Busker’s Corner.
Families can jump in the pool for an inflatable session, explore the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service fire engine, and indulge in a mouth-watering variety of refreshments, from pizza, BBQ and bubble tea, to ice cream sundaes, cream teas, and all the candy floss and popcorn a summer’s day demands.
Truro School's head of events Joanna Wood said: “We’re so excited to launch Truro School Family Day. It’s a chance to celebrate together, showcase the creativity and energy of our school, and open our doors to the wider community. Whether you're here for the workshops, food, music or just the fun atmosphere, we can’t wait to welcome you.”
Some activities carry a small fee, but many are free to enjoy. Wristbands for inflatable attractions will be available on the day or in advance.
