The Truro branch of the Royal British Legion is calling for additional volunteers to take part in its Poppy Appeal, selling poppies and collecting donations around the city in the run-up to Remembrance events in November.

Volunteers are sought especially for shifts at the Truro branches of Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose. The appeal period runs from October 27 to November 8. Shifts are usually from 9am to noon, noon to 2pm, 2pom to 4pm and 4pm to 6.30pm.

Anyone who can spare time is invited to call the “Poppy phone” on 07763 519366.

Last year’s Poppy Appeal raised a record-breaking £59,776 between October 1 and December 12, 2024 in supermarkets, street collections and schools.
