A PROPERTY in Baynards Close, close to Truro city centre, has been made subject to a three-month premises closure order due to anti-social behaviour.

An application for the order was granted at Truro Magistrates Court on Tuesday [October 14] “to safeguard the wider community”. It is now an offence for anyone other than representatives of the housing association owners or emergency services to enter the property.

Anti-social behaviour officer Steven Lennon said the decision to close the property was “not made lightly”, adding that the tenant had been approached by various partners but “failed to engage” with support and allowed their property to be used as the base for “criminal endeavours”.

Mr Lennon praised the partnership working of Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police, Cornwall Housing, and the general public of Truro.

“As a Safer Cornwall partnership, we hope this will restore peace to the area ... while encouraging the tenant to engage with support services to help them and protect them.”
