TRURO Art Society’s spring exhibition is on display until May 17 in the historic stalls of the stables at the National Trust property of Trelissick.

The exhibition celebrates the work of amateurs and professional Cornish artists, with an eclectic mix of media in evidence. Subjects covered include seascapes, landscapes, botany, portraits, still life and abstract studies.

Truro Art Society was established in the 1950s. Members and guests meet monthly on a Thursday morning to learn, socialise and share their interest in art, with interactive talks and demonstrations.

Many society members are inspired by the Cornish life, environment and light levels. As well as paintings, previous exhibitions have included ceramics, wood turning and handicrafts. However, being an artist is not a membership requirement.
