WHAT’S claimed to be Cornwall’s most colourful fun run is returning to RAF ST Mawgan at Newquay this summer.

Rainbow Run Cornwall is taking place on Saturday, June 17 in aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and is again being sponsored by local business, Ann’s Cottage.

Anyone aged five and over can join the fun and get covered in powder paint as they walk or run through seven different-coloured paint       stations along the 5km flat route.

CHSW event fund-raiser Kiley Pearce, said: “Every year we welcome over 1,000 participants from all over Cornwall and beyond.

“We would love to see lots of new participants join ‘Team Rainbow’ this year along with welcoming back those who take part annually.

“Whether you’re taking part with friends, family, work colleagues or with members of your fitness club or community group, we promise you a fun-filled day out.”

Tickets are on sale now and there is an early-bird discount for a limited time. Participants are asked to raise £20 in sponsorship and everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a Rainbow Run medal. People taking part in last year’s event raised more than £60,000 to support CHSW’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.

Kiley Pearce added: “We hope this year the event will raise a further £50,000 for CHSW - every £20 raised helps fund around one hour of care at our hospices and will make a real difference to children, young people and their families.”
