A teenage motorcyclist sustained serious life-changing injuries in a road traffic collision near Hayle on Thursday night.

Police were called to reports of a collision involving a red Ford Fiesta car and a white Sym 125cc motorbike on Steamers Hill, Angarrack, at around 6.50pm.

The rider of the motorcycle, a local man in his late teens, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The occupants of the other vehicle were unharmed.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision. The road was examined and  reopened at around 9pm.
