A 19-year-old motorcyclist had to be airlifted to Derriford Hospital on Thursday night following a serious road collision in Cornwall.
Police were contacted at around 9:20pm following reports of a collision involving a white coloured Honda Jazz and a black Sym 125cc motorcycle on the A3083 junction near an unclassified road leading to Gunwalloe, Helston.
South Western Ambulance Service, Cornwall Air Ambulance and the police all attended the incident.
The rider of the motorbike, who is a 19-year-old local man, was treated at the scene having sustained significant injuries and he was subsequently airlifted to Plymouth.
The A3083 between Hospital Cross, Helston and Culdrose roundabout was closed for around six hours while scene investigation work took place.
Police have thanked those members of public who stopped and assisted at the scene prior to emergency services arriving.
They are now appealing for witnesses particularly those with dashcam footage that could assist with the investigation.
