A TEENAGE girl has died after collapsing at Grampound Road Cricket Club on Thursday evening (August 20).

The girl was taken to hospital following the incident but has since died.

The cricket club said the incident was believed to be a medical emergency and was not connected to cricket.

Lewis Sanders, chairman of Grampound Road Cricket Club, said the club’s thoughts were with the girl’s family and friends.

“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family, friends and everyone who knew and loved her at this unimaginably difficult time,” he said. “We will respect the family’s privacy and ask others to do the same.”

The club also paid tribute to those who responded to the emergency, including people who provided immediate first aid and members of the emergency services.

“We would also like to thank all those who responded on Thursday evening, particularly those who provided immediate first aid and the emergency services including the Cornwall Air Ambulance,” said Mr Sanders.
