THE weather shone at a St Austell park on Saturday, August 23, when the Gover Community Fun Day’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic event took place.

Organised by Sandra Heyward, visitors brought along their beloved teddy bears for an enjoyable day of fun the park located on Truro Road.

Mayor of St Austell, Cllr Colin Hamilton, his deputy, Cllr Ethan Stephens, and lady mayor, Maggie Hamilton, were among those that attended the event.

They were on hand to check out all the special bears and awarded a prize for the best dressed, as well as giving away prizes for the runner-ups as well.

Great weather graced the event which saw many families visit the park

Youngsters could get their face painted and glittered, take home a balloon animal or sword, bounce on the bouncy castles and enjoy a Punch and Judy show.
