A team from a resin bound driveway specialist company based in Newquay managed to get to grips with a muddy obstacle challenge for charity.

Six enthusiastic team members from Oltco in Pargolla Road took part in the Pretty Muddy 5K at Stithians Showground and raised £180 for Cancer Research UK.

The course, known for its fun yet demanding obstacles, saw the group crawl, climb and wade their way through mud, tunnels and water features before finishing with a splash–down a giant inflatable slide into a muddy pool.

Participants Sashka Langsdon, Rosie Dowen, Corinna Dowen, Jack Dowen, Beth Dady and Carys Potter embraced the event as an opportunity to support a vital cause while enjoying a unique team challenge outside the workplace.

A spokesperson for Oltco said: “The event not only tested their physical stamina but also brought plenty of laughs, creating lasting memories and strengthening team bonds.

“The fundraising effort highlights Oltco’s dedication to giving back to the community and supporting national charities. Known for its sustainable resin-bound surfacing solutions, the company’s values extend beyond environmental responsibility, with a strong focus on social impact and team wellbeing.

“The team extended their sincere thanks to all who donated and supported their fundraising efforts. Despite the mud and physical challenge, they crossed the finish line with a strong sense of pride, united by a shared commitment to a worthy cause.”
