SUPERHEROES donned their costumes to brave a chilly dip in Newquay to raise £360 for charity.

The 5th Annual Superhero swim in aid of Cancer Research UK was staged at Towan Beach on Sunday, November 23.

The group of ladies, who dressed as various superheroes including Wonder Woman and Batman, did a conga on the way down to the sea before the caped crusaders took a dip in their fight against cancer.

The event honoured the late Amy Gordon who started the fundraiser in 2020 to celebrate all the “superheroes” who are battling cancer.

The mum of four also organised the annual fundraiser to educate people on the importance of being cancer aware and to make a difference towards cancer care, treatment and prevention.

Debbie Hayes, who helped to organise this year’s superhero swim, said: “Thank you to everyone who came and supported this year’s event and helped us raise funds.”
