STREET art is transforming Camborne’s high streets – thanks to local artist Cosmic.

Commissioned by BID Camborne to paint 12 BT boxes in the town through Town Deal Project A-Void Phase 2 funding, he joined the team on Trevithick Day to get more ideas for future artwork.

One of the most impressive was Charlotte Stairmand’s vision for a Camborne dragon called Fire. Together she and Cosmic got to work and Fire was brought to life on paper.

Other visitors to BID’s stand included winners of BID Camborne’s monthly loyalty card draw and children wanting to sign up for the annual Tykes on Trikes event on Sunday, October 26.

Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne manager, said: “We were buzzing all day, with lots of people stopping to chat.”

“Many of them wanted to talk about the loyalty card and how they had been spending their prize vouchers locally, whilst Cosmic was a big attraction for all those who have seen his artwork around the town.

“The new street art is proving extremely popular and there were plenty of additional ideas like Charlotte’s for brightening up the town even more.

“Celebrating Richard Trevithick’s ingenuity is a highlight of the Camborne calendar and this year’s event was certainly one to remember.”

Project A-Void Phase 2 is a government funded Town Deal project that is managed by BID Camborne and overseen by Cornwall Council.
