THE sighting of a Kingfisher at a Newquay beauty spot on Wednesday has created a buzz.
People have been descending on Trenance Gardens and Boating Lake eager to catch a glimpse of the vividly coloured bird since keen photographer Bob Quinn published pictures he captured.
The Kingfisher is known for its brilliant blue and green back and bright orange underparts, large head, sharp pointed bill, and short tail.

The bird darts rapidly like an arrow low over water to hunt fish, often seen as a flash of colour near rivers, canals, and ponds.

Bob Quinn said: “ I was very lucky to catch the Kingfisher, especially in-flight.
“I love the way she pops her head up and down.
“The Kingfisher is causing quite a buzz around town. Lots of people going down to the Boating Lake, to see if they can spot her.
“I think The Lakeside Cafe, will be doing extra business. I'm 78 in a couple of weeks and I've never seen one before.”
