People are being warned cliffs are unable following at collapse at Watergate Bay in the early hours of Friday.

Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to investigate reports of a cliff collapse at Watergate Bay at 6.20am.

The team were able confirm that a section of the cliff on the North side of Watergate Bsy had fallen onto the beach overnight.

A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “The public are reminded that due to constant erosion cliffs are unstable and pose a potential hazard. 

“Do not approach and pay attention to warning signs and RNLI Lifeguards Newquay advice whilst patrols are still active.
