RESIDENTS of Redruth are welcome to attend the town’s annual town meeting which takes place at Kresen Kernow between 6pm to 8pm tomorrow (Wednesday, July 9).

This is an opportunity for the community to meet their new town councillors and some of the new Redruth Town Council team. The evening will begin with a speech by Redruth mayor Alison Biscoe who is “looking forward to warmly welcoming the community to this celebration.”

Residents can get to know more about what the town council does, while helping the council to build new relationships with the community in a more informal setting.

The meeting will feature some of Redruth Town Council’s grant recipients about how they have used their money.

There will also be an opportunity to quiz the Redruth town councillors in a format that follows the BBC’s Question Time television programme.

This will be chaired by Redruth town clerk, Charlotte Caldwell, who said: “Please come along, ask questions, listen to our amazing grant recipients and be inspired by the amazing community here in Redruth.”

After the question time, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to mingle with a range of representatives from the Redruth Town Council team. Teams will be on hand to tell the public more about what their team does.

Redruth Youth Councillors will also be in attendance at the meeting. In addition to the Youth Council’s attendance, there will also be an area for children to participate in some games and entertainment.
