POLICE are warning youngsters in a Clay Country village that they risk electrocution if they play on electricity sub-stations.
St Austell Police have had reports of young people playing on sub-stations in Bugle.
The police say the sub-stations have fibreglass roofs which could break if people stand or walk on them.
Officers warn there is a risk of injury and electrocution if someone was to fall onto live electrical equipment in one of the sub-stations and they are urging parents to take responsibility for knowing where their children are playing
In an online post, officers said: “We have had reports of young people playing on electricity sub-stations in Bugle.
“The roofs of the sub-stations are fibreglass and the weight of a person standing or walking on the roof may cause them to break.
“There is the real risk of injury and electrocution from falling into the interior of the sub-stations which contain live electrical equipment.
“If you are the parents or guardians of these young people, please take responsibility to know where they are playing and discourage them from playing near sub-stations.”

St Austell Police have also been involved in the issue of large numbers of young people gathering at Par Track in Par.
Officers said online: “We have been in contact with staff at the track about large numbers of young people congregating around the cafe area in the evenings which has caused concern for staff and users. A minority have been seen behaving in an anti-social manner.
“We have been conducting patrols and have spoken to young people congregating there. The majority have been good-natured and amicable with us.
“We understand that the track’s facilities make it a good spot for young people to socialise. We would ask if you are a young person socialising at the track, please show respect and understanding to staff and visitors.”
