PUBLIC toilets at Newquay Train Station have been temporarily closed following a spate of vandalism.
Newquay Town Council has shut the facility so that repairs can be carried out due to the “significant” damage.

Graffiti has been daubed inside the building, a toilet roll dispenser has been ripped off the wall and part of the wall has been ripped out.
The train station public toilets, which were once described as “vandal proof,” were opened after the previous facility was shut due to repeated vandalism.

A town council spokesperson said: “Over the past two days, the toilets at Newquay Train Station have suffered significant vandalism.
“This damage has been increasing recently and is costing Newquay Town Council valuable time and money to repair.

“It is disappointing to see facilities that serve the whole community being treated in this way.
“To keep the facilities safe and allow our team to carry out the necessary repairs, the toilets will be closed until further notice. We will provide an update as soon as they are ready to reopen.
“If anyone witnesses any vandalism or suspicious behaviour, please report it on 101.”
