SCAFFOLDING has been taken down to reveal a new colourful mural in its full glory in Newquay.

Lauren Morsley from Scotland has painted the artwork on the side of the side of the former Sunset Surf at the bottom of Tower Road to showcase the town’s vibrancy.

Lauren said: “I created this mural to reflect the vibrancy of Newquay and its community. By weaving together nods to its rich history, thriving water sports scene, and lively nightlife, it offers a snapshot of coastal life here in Cornwall.”

The Illustrator, muralist and printmaker specialises in bold and colourful designs which create other worlds for people to explore often drawing inspiration from intriguing stories and the vast nature that she grew up surrounded by. Her illustrations celebrate curiosity, community, and the magic found in everyday life.

The mural is the ninth artwork in the Newquay Mural Trail, which aims to encourage visitors and residents alike to explore town’s streets, discover hidden corners, and enjoy art in everyday spaces. The MUQY project has once again been led by curator Jack Tierney from Slapdash Studios. The artwork has been commissioned by Newquay BID with TRIP funding.

Slapdash Studios and Newquay BID are looking for local businesses to offer walls or funding for further murals.
