TWO detached bungalows for improvement close to Looe town centre were among a number of properties in East Cornwall to be sold at a recent auction.
With a freehold guide price of £150,000-plus, the bungalows were among 186 lots listed by Clive Emson Auctioneers in the firm’s March online auction which concluded on Thursday, March 26.
Each with two bedrooms, the Polvellan Terrace properties are said to “require a programme of improvement”, according to auction appraiser James Lofthouse.
Elsewhere in East Cornwall, an end-terrace freehold property at Woodland Cottages, Upton Cross, near Liskeard, fetched £100,000 in a bidding war, off a guide of £70,000-plus.

James added: “This three-bedroom house attracted keen interest, with the final bid of 11 coming in at £100,000, which was £30,000 more than the guide price.”
In Liskeard town centre, a one-bedroom flat went for £50,500, which was £10,500 above guide price. The flat on Pike Street is on the remainder of a 999-year lease from December 2006.
A semi-detached freehold bungalow at Moorland Way, Gunnislake, sold for £93,000, which was more than twice the guide price, with 31 bids made. The property has one bedroom as well as front and back gardens.
In St Austell, a two-bedroom bungalow at Bethel Road fetched £111,000 in a bidding war.

James said: “This bungalow, in a pleasant residential location on a good-sized plot, attracted 36 bids, with the final one at £111,000, which was £46,000 above guide price.”
Meanwhile, freehold land in Montgomery Road in nearby Penwithick, went for more than twice the guide price, with the final bid of 28 coming in at £22,500.
A parcel of freehold land in the Saltash area also sold at auction.
The land in Sycamore Road, Latchbrook, at 0.06 acres, went for £4,000, which was £1,500 above guide price.
