A MAN who was reported missing from the Truro area was found dead in the early hours of this morning (Friday, August 8).

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Boscawen Park at 3.35am following a report that a man in his 40s had gone missing.

The man was located in the play area shortly after and despite efforts from the emergency services, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We were called at around 3.35am on Friday, August 8, following a report a man had gone missing in the Truro area.

“He was located a short time later in Boscawen Park. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man – in his 40s and from Truro - was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“His next of kin have been made aware. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”

A police cordon was put in place and the car park at Boscawen was sealed off to members of the public. The cordon was lifted just before 9am this morning and the park was reopened.
