Police have uncovered a stash of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis estimated to be worth more than £4,000 at an address in St Columb Major.

A warrant was carried out under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act on June 30, which resulted in the “significant” quantity of illegal substances being located inside the residential property. A large quantity of cash was also found.

Two people were arrested following the search.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and is currently on police bail.

A 19-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police inspector Steve Johnson said: “Our neighbourhood officers continue to work closely to gather information from the community about suspected drug dealing in and around Newquay.

“I hope this shows that we’re taking action following the reports we receive. If you know something, see something or suspect something, please report it to us.”

Inspector Johnson added: “We will continue to carry out action like this to make towns across Cornwall a hostile place for people looking to commit crime.”

The warrant was led by the Force Support Group and Newquay Neighbourhood Police Team.
