Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after a driver in her 90s received serious injuries in a collision in Penryn today.

Emergency services were called shortly before 9.30am on Tuesday 3 January to a single-vehicle collision at the junction of the Gweal Darras estate and Antron Hill, involving a blue Peugeot 108.

The driver of the car, described by officers as a local female in her 90s, had suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

Her next of kin have been informed of the collision.

The road was closed for three hours and officers from the Specialist Roads Policing Team would like to thank those members of the public who helped at the scene.
