Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on the A30 at Canon’s Town, near Penzance.

Police were notified of a collision involving a black BMW 3 Series Touring and a Silver Mercedes E-Class Estate at around 11am on September 21.

As a result of the collision a driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries.

A 39-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving whilst unfit through drugs. He has been released on police bail until October 31.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene and officers from the Roads Policing Team have thanked the public for their patience whilst the road was shut.
