REPORTS of criminal damage to resident’s cars in the Malabar area of Truro have led to a police appeal for digital images and footage.

Numerous incidents of car crime have been reported to Devon and Cornwall Police over the last five months, from April 24 to September 5. Many of the incidents included paintwork to cars being damaged and residents having their car tyres slashed.

Investigations have resulted in a 39-year-old man from Truro being arrested in connection to the incidents. He has been released on police bail with several conditions.

Neighbourhood beat manager PC Richie Wilson said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into these reports as part of our investigation.

“We are encouraging anyone in the local area in and around Richards Crescent who may have digital images or footage of the criminal damage to their motor vehicles to send us their material.

“We are keen to see any CCTV or doorbell footage of any suspicious movements in the early hours of the morning over the last six months.”

Please submit digital material via the Devon and Cornwall Poice webiste, quoting 50250220118.
