THE St Austell Players are set to transport audiences back in time this summer with Rashleigh, an immersive promenade theatre production telling the extraordinary story of Charles Rashleigh, the visionary founder of Charlestown.

Performed in and around the historic harbour, Rashleigh invites audiences to walk through history as the drama unfolds at key locations, culminating in a unique theatrical experience that blends heritage, storytelling, and the beauty of Cornwall’s iconic port.

Running from August 28 to 31, each performance will begin at 7pm at The Battery, before leading the audience through the harbour’s atmospheric streets and waterfront.

Director Kim Rowe said: “Charlestown is not just a backdrop – it’s a character in its own right. This production lets you stand where history happened, while the story of Charles Rashleigh’s ambition, challenges, and legacy comes vividly to life around you. It’s theatre you can feel under your feet.”
