PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council across Cornwall.

Cornwall Council have confirmed that several roads in Cornwall are set to be closed in the coming weeks.

These road closures are due to a number of reasons and as part of the authorisation process, they are required to advertise the proposed closures in local news titles in order to make the public aware.

The latest public notices indicate potential road closures in Newquay, Lostwithiel and Dobwalls.

NEWQUAY: There will be overnight road closures on several roads in Newquay in late September, it has been confirmed.

Cornwall Council has confirmed that it will be closing several roads in and around the A392 between 7pm and 6am on the dates spanning September 24 to September 26, including weekends.

This is to enable Cormac Solutions Ltd to undertake principal road maintenance and gully emptying works.

The roads affected are as follows: West Road on the A392 From Park An Dre Roundabout to West Road, Park An Dre on the A392 From Morrisons Roundabout to Park An Dre Roundabout, the A392 between Trevemper Road and Superstore Roundabout and Quintrell Downs on the A392 from Quintrell Downs Roundabout to Trevemper.

An alternative route will be signposted on site and access to properties in the affected area will be maintained to pedestrians and vehicles.

LOSTWITHIEL: A section of footpath in Lostwithiel is set to be closed until late September, it has been confirmed by Cornwall Council.

The footpath between South Street and Quay Street was put under an emergency 21-day closure order on August 5 amid concerns of the likelihood of it presenting a danger to the public due to structural concerns.

However, this has now been extended until September 25, when Cornwall Council anticipates that the necessary remedial works will be completed.

The prohibition of its use will be in place for 24 hours a day.

Nothing in the order authorising its closure will apply to traffic associated with the works, emergencies or anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.
