CHILD bereavement charity Penhaligon’s Friends is set to celebrate three decades of vital support for bereaved children, young people and families with a glamorous 30th birthday ball.

The black-tie celebration will take place on Saturday, November 8 at the Penventon Park Hotel, Redruth, with a vintage theme inspired by the 1920s and ‘30s.

Guests will be treated to a sparkling prosecco reception with live piano music from 7pm, followed by a delicious three-course dinner.

There will be a charity auction with the event aiming to raise essential funds to support the charity’s work across Cornwall, finishing with a disco until the end of the evening.

Established in 1995, Penhaligon’s Friends has become a lifeline for children and young people coping with grief. Each year, the charity supports more than 1,000 children, teenagers and their families after the death of someone close to them, offering specialist services including advice, one-to-one support, memory days, and professional training for those working with bereaved families.

Chief executive Julie Parker said: “We are so proud to be celebrating 30 years of Penhaligon’s Friends. Since 1995 we have walked alongside thousands of Cornish children and young people during the most difficult times in their lives.

“We are grateful to for generously sponsoring our 30th birthday ball. It is not just a celebration of our history, but also an opportunity to thank our community for their support and to raise vital funds to enable us to continue this work in the future. We are also thankful to Darren and the team at the Penventon Park Hotel for their generosity and help organising and hosting this exciting event.”

The event is sponsored by Enable Law. Tickets cost £60 per person or £550 for a table of 10. To purchase tickets, contact Penhaligon’s Friends on 01209 215889 or by email at [email protected].
