LOCAL historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.

This week’s photograph takes us to a sight that fell foul of Beeching’s axe in the 1960s.

Barrie says of this photograph: "This was the original railway station on the Lostwithiel to St Blazey via Golant line before Beeching axed it.

“It was a very popular line as it carried pupils to school as well as workers to the clay depot.”
