LOCAL historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.

This week’s photograph shows a historic image of Point Neptune near Fowey.

Barrie says of this photograph: “Point Neptune at Readymoney, Fowey in its heyday. Built in 1862 by William Rashleigh of granite on an old gun battery. William Rashleigh preferred this house to his mansion at Menabilly. Who could blame him? Menabilly was let to Daphne Du Maurier.”
