Performing artists show they have the X factor

PERFORMING artists took to the stage in Newquay to show they have the X factor.

Pete Hamilton, Mr Band, Evan Platt, Sarah Yeo, Jazmyn Kirra and Chris Oster performed at the Ultimately Unsigned live music evening held at Project 83 on Wednesday, September 23.

Rhiannon Tree, who performs in Mr Band, organised the event to create opportunities for original singers and songwriters in Cornwall and Devon.

Various people in the music industry were invited to attend to help the performers in their music careers.

Cosmic Xposure professional photographers took pictures of their performance so they will have professional photos for their publicity.

Dave Dowling from Rewind Radio who operates a show featuring original music, attended to look at the potential of the artists playing their original music on radio.

Josh Curnow, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and has his own record label, spoke to each artist about the ways he could help them.

Rhiannon said: “It was a great evening where the artists could introduce their original music to a live audience who may not normally hear them. The artists were able to tell everyone about their music which can be found on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, YouTube and all the usual platforms.

“Guests were also invited who could help them network their music and hopefully help their music journey. Some of the artists have already been offered radio slots.

“Evan Platt did his first solo performance ever and his music has not been released yet so that was an exclusive for everyone. Jazmyn Kira is also an amazing emerging artist. Keep a look out for them. I’m sure they have great things ahead.

“Thanks also Pete Hamilton who just released his first original songs. Though he’s been on the scene for a while his first original songs are amazing.

“The fantastic Sarah Yeo has an incredible voice. She is looking to perform her songs around Cornwall’s folk scene. I would encourage anyone to book this amazing artist. Chris Ostler finished the night with a bang performing some fantastic original songs.

“My thanks to everyone involved who made it such a special night.

“Special mention to Mike Norfolk who did a fantastic job on the sound giving every artist the opportunity to sound the best they could. They all sounded amazing.

Mike also performed with Jazmyn Kira and is a fantastic musician and creator of original music himself so check him out too.”
