Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team sprung into action twice during the high spring tides on Wednesday night.
Members were tasked twice whilst on patrol at the town beaches between 5pm and 8pm due to the spring tides, large surf and increased town population.
The team were first scrambled to the Gannel estuary at about 5.30pm after reports came in via 999 of five persons cut off by the incoming tide in the Penpol area.
They searched the area aided by Crantock RNLI Lifeguards in their personal watercraft.
The team was stood down after it was confirmed with the person who had raised the alarm that the five people had made their own way to safety.
Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team was later tasked to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with a casualty at Holywell Bay at 6.50pm.
Clinical staff carried out initial treatment after the casualty was located until the arrival of the ambulance service, before they were transported to hospital.
