THE Oddfellows Truro Friendship Group have announced a move to a new venue designed to better suit members’ needs.

From Wednesday, September 3, meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at Kea Community Centre. The spacious, ground-floor Stockley Room offers excellent facilities, ample parking and easy access via local buses.

The very first meeting in the new home will kick off at 2pm with a lively beetle drive, the perfect chance to meet friends old and new.

The group recently enjoyed a buzzing afternoon at their recent monthly meeting, filled with laughter, friendly competition and a healthy dose of Cornish pride.

Members tested their skills in a lively observation and memory challenge, followed by a Cornish-themed quiz that had everyone thinking hard and smiling even harder. Victors took home packs of buttery shortbread as sweet rewards.

The fun didn’t stop there. A ‘prize-for-all’ raffle ensured nobody left empty-handed, with proceeds set aside for a local cause chosen by the members.

Between rounds, attendees enjoyed chocolate biscuits, sweets, fresh fruit, and hot drinks, while Oddfellows District Welfare Rep reminded everyone of the valuable care, welfare and advice services available to all members.

The meeting also saw the grand reveal of the ‘Decorate a Jam Jar’ competition winner. Longstanding member Frank Eva’s creative entry triumphed over submissions from across the Plymouth and Truro District, earning him a shopping voucher and a well-deserved round of applause.
