PEOPLE in Camborne are being invited to discuss ideas for street art in New Connexion Street as part of ongoing work to enhance the town’s visual appeal.

Managed by Camborne’s Business Improvement District (BID) team and funded by Camborne Renew, one of ten Camborne Town Deal projects, the aim is to brighten up New Connexion Street with impactful imagery.

Local artist Cosmic is leading the latest discovery session on Monday, September 22, 5.30-6.30pm, at the Tyacks Hotel. Everyone is welcome and further discussions are being planned with organisations, local groups and schools.

A BID Camborne stall at Trevithick Day in April also invited visitors to share artwork ideas.

BID Camborne manager Anna Pascoe said: “We’re excited to be expanding on what we’ve already done, and are doing, to improve the town centre through Project A-Void, another Camborne Town Deal scheme,”

“That involved awarding capital grants to upgrade local business premises, commissioning street art, creating town maps and installing new signage. Now we’re launching our New Ideas for New Connexion Street consultations which will, I’m sure, result in more creativity.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the new artwork when it gets installed this side of Christmas.”
