People across North Cornwall are being invited to get involved in UK Parliament Week.

Scott Mann, MP for North Cornwall, says everyone in the district can get involved in the week which is an annual event that spreads the word about Parliament.

This year, the week is taking place on November 6-12. Youth groups, community organisations and schools in constituencies across the UK have already signed up to join in. Last year, over one million people took part in the UK and around the world.

Everyone who signs up for the week will be posted a free kit with resources, including a booklet (with information and activity ideas tailored for youth groups, primary and secondary schools, or adults), a ballot box, bunting, stickers and a ‘The Ayes Have It’ board game. As well as exploring Parliament and ways to get involved, this year’s week will throw a spotlight on the various roles and people who help to keep Parliament running.

Mr Mann said: “As the MP for North Cornwall, I’m encouraging people in my constituency to sign up for UK Parliament Week 2023. I’m looking forward to seeing many groups and organisations join in and welcome this opportunity for communities to come together to find out about Parliament.”

Parliament head of education and engagement Fran Jeens said: “Every year it’s fantastic to see so many people actively take part in UK Parliament Week.

“We look forward to lots of activities taking place in North Cornwall.”
