MOTORISTS are being advised to expect short delays in the Newquay area on Sunday (February 1) during a popular road race.
The Newquay Road Runners 10K race will see around 900 competitors setting off from Newquay Sports Centre at 9am.
The competitors will be running along Edgcumbe Avenue, past the Boating Lake, out to Trevemper, continuing towards Crantock, before returning to the finish.
Phil Bunt from Newquay Road Runners said: “Any delays will be kept to an absolute minimum, and the patience and understanding of road users is always greatly appreciated.
“This is the largest field of athletes in a road race in Cornwall, and the event is proudly supported by local businesses, along with a dedicated team of around 100 volunteer marshals who will be on hand to ensure the race runs safely and smoothly.
“Thank you for your co-operation in supporting this major community sporting event.”
