A MAN was knocked unconscious after he was picked up and dropped on his head in Newquay town centre.

Police were called following a report of a fight in the street in Fore Street on Sunday, May 18 shortly after midnight.

The victim was treated by the ambulance service for his injury and has since been discharged from hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the assault including relevant footage.

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault.

“During the incident a man was picked up and dropped on his head, knocking him briefly unconscious.”
