An initial proposal for a bus interchange in Liskeard has been drawn up with Cormac submitting a pre-planning application enquiry to Cornwall Council.
The proposal, which is part of the wider redevelopment of the former cattle market in the town centre, is designed to take pressure off traffic on Barras Street.
“The bus interchange facility will provide much-needed space for connection of services and space for driver layover and rest periods,” said Cormac.
“The final scheme will include a passenger waiting shelter with real-time information provision – the size of this is to be confirmed.”
The project is to be funded through Cornwall Council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, which has been given £13.3-million from the Department for Transport.
