Camborne’s inaugural Great Big Green Fest will take place on Saturday to mark the national celebration of community action called Great Big Green Week.

Camborne Town Council will host the event from 11am to 4pm at the recreation ground.

The music stage will feature local live bands including Hello In There, True Foxes, Rudi’s Message and Boundless Brothers, and there will be guest speakers, displays and stalls from green charities and organisations, along with a range of kids’ activities, street performers and festival food from local catering companies.

Entry to the family-friendly festival is free, the council has worked hard to minimise its carbon footprint, using biofuel power, plastic-free packaging, recycling areas, vegan food and local staff and performers travelling short distances.

Attendees are encouraged to travel on foot or by bus where possible, but disabled and overflow parking is available at Camborne Rugby Club

Mayor Zoe Fox said: “We’re very excited to create this new event for Camborne.

"We hope it will highlight all the great work done by a range of local organisations and creative individuals, and will inspire us all to help make a difference, both in our town and across our planet.”
