NEWQUAY’S biggest holiday park has demonstrated its longstanding commitment to excellence in hospitality after receiving a prestigious accolade for the 18th consecutive year.
Hendra Holiday Park has retained its five-star gold award from VisitEngland following an assessment, which received a 96 per cent quality rating.
The VisitEngland assessor praised Hendra’s high-quality facilities, outstanding accommodation, friendly and professional staff, and immaculate presentation, including its award-winning grounds and floral displays.
The inspector commented: “Many congratulations to the park and the team for achieving 18 years assessed with VisitEngland, an excellent milestone showing the continued commitment to quality standards in hospitality. Hendra is a beautifully presented park, and the team works hard to ensure excellent standards at all times.
“Significant investment has once again been made across the park, with the redeveloped restaurant facilities being a major highlight of the visit.
“Hendra continues to be a jewel in the crown of Cornish hospitality, which is reflected in the many awards achieved for 2024/2025, including the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, Britain in Bloom’s Burford Cup, and the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award.”
Recent investments include the complete redevelopment of the Beach House Bar and Pizza, transforming the former Mario’s Pizzeria into a stylish new coastal-inspired dining venue featuring unique artwork by glass artist Jo Downs.
The Deck Bar has been expanded to accommodate up to 450 guests, with upgraded staging, sound systems, and outdoor seating to create a vibrant festival-style atmosphere.
Hendra has also invested in staff facilities, adding a dedicated accommodation development with eight new caravan plots and gated access. Seventy five team members celebrated in 2024 working at the park for more than five seasons, reflecting management’s focus on staff retention and guest experience.
Chris North, Hendra Holiday Park manager, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the continued recognition from VisitEngland. This year’s inspection highlights the hard work of our entire team, the investments we’ve made, and the passion we have for making Hendra a destination our guests return to year after year. Ending the season with this recognition is a real high point for us.”
